Visits not to be missed in Gironde
Once you have arrived at our small corner of paradise, at Camping des Pins, the teams will also be there to guide you and inform you about what you should not miss before leaving.
Our cycle tracks and mountain bike rides
If you wish, you can do everything by bike and leave your car behind during your stay. Our cycle path runs from Le Verdon to Lacanau if you fancy a day or several day ride as a couple, with family or friends. From here to the campsite, you can find the track in 5 minutes.
If we refocus on Soulac, you can get to the village in 20min from the campsite Paradis des Pins Soulac or again in 5min to reach the first surfing spot and the first beach for your daily siesta.
Around us, the whole forest is marked out for sporty mountain bike rides, the routes are not alike and are for all levels.
The little train of Soulac
The tourist train is a 7km ride along the coast. A good opportunity to spend a pleasant time.
You can go up there on foot or by bike. The starting point is in Le Verdon-sur-Mer, 10min from us by car.
Visit to the Blockhaus
You will find Blockhaus all over our beaches, they are like historic buildings laid all along the coast. Almost all of them have been the carriers of artists’ art.
In Soulac-sur-Mer, they are graffitied, canvases by visiting or local artists, such as Yann Müller, who runs the Art Gallery la plateforM in Soulac.
The Arros beach
The plage des Arros is not to be missed! You can picnic on the spot at the edge of the forest or on the roof of a blockhouse to enjoy the magnificent landscape of the ocean, the stretch of fine sand, the Pointe de Grave and the Cordouan lighthouse.
If you decide to push a little further to your right, you will find the plage des Cantines with magnificent natural pools to swim safely with your children and the more fearful of your tribe to take the waves in bodysurf.
Médoc oysters and gambas
To meet the men behind these local wonders, you have to go back to the marshes where they farm or for some at the Soulac market like Hugo Bertigny who you will find there every morning, producer of the aquaculture farm of Neyran. Discover where to taste oysters and prawns in Gironde on the tourism office website.
The association : Curuma
Amateur or lover of fauna and flora, contact the Curuma Association for guided tours in the heart of nature.
Medoc and Soulac gastronomy
Apart from eating oysters and prawns, meat lovers will be able to discover the lamb of Pauillac or our famous Médoc grenier.
You can’t leave Soulac without tasting the best pastries of Soulac, Cécile and Benoît Vallat have the Kingdom of Gourmet. Head to the village to try the strawberry tart, you’ll thank us. Judici, the Soulac ice cream shop, whose ice cream making is artisanal, is the childhood spot of every Soulac, Médoc, Bordeaux or self-respecting holidaymaker.
Yoga on the beach or in the forest
Breathe, disconnect, take a big breath of oxygen, you can find yoga classes on Soulac-sur-Mer for initiates or beginners in the forest, on the beach or at our place at Camping des Pins. Discover Yoga sur mer and Ulm surf school.
Art in the Médoc
Many artists have left the metropolis to settle in the Médoc, in Soulac or its surroundings in order to live from their passion and express themselves freely in the heart of nature.
You will be able to find Heidi Moriot with her Association Sea (a pencil stroke that illustrates many works on Soulac), Sébastien Rideau with Ras d’eau (sculpture and light workshop), Alben with Alben Factory (outstanding collector)… Yann Müller, who can be found in the Blockhaus section, but also Greg Bronard, a talented photographer from the Médoc, Vincent Richeux and many others. You will be fascinated and surprised by the quality of our Médoc artists.
